The 15-Minute Emergency Protocol
Complete Litter Swap (5 min)
Don't try to save the current litter. Bag it, tie it, take it outside immediately. This removes the active ammonia source.
Quick Box Wipe (2 min)
No time for a full clean. Wipe the inside with paper towels dampened with dish soap and water. Don't use bleach or ammonia-based cleaners.
Baking Soda Base (1 min)
Dump 1/2 cup of baking soda in the bottom of the box before adding fresh litter. This provides immediate odor neutralization.
Fresh Litter + Carbon (3 min)
Fill with 3-4 inches of fresh litter. If you have activated carbon (like Purrify), sprinkle it on top now. This traps any remaining airborne odors.
